Susan Scott L.Ac.

Susan Scott, L.Ac. has been in private practice as an acupuncturist in the Seattle area for twenty six years. She actively utilizes Toyohari acupuncture, Manaka ion-pumping cord techniques, Nogier auricular acupuncture and visceral manipulation assessments in her practice. In addition to being co-founder and director of Stillpoint Health Assoc., the home to a group of dedicated health care practitioners, she is also on the faculty of SIOM where she teaches Nogier Auricular Microsystems.

Susan received her Acupuncture Diploma from NIAOM in 1985. As Acupuncture education was in its infancy in the United States at that time, her class of six went to Chongqing, China to fulfill their clinical requirements in an outpatient clinic for over three months. She graduated in the second graduating class of NIAOM in June 1985.

Susan began studying Auriculotherapy and Auriculomedicine in 1987 after attending a weekend workshop at NIAOM from Michael Adams, N.D., who had learned from Paul Nogier, M.D. She took several advanced auricular classes from Dr. Adams after that time. Because of her special interest in this diagnostic and treatment modality she preceptored with Dr. Adams at his Bellevue office for one year, in addition to being his teaching assistant from 1988 to 1991. Concurrent with teaching Nogier auricular therapy/medicine classes in 1994 to 1996 at NIAOM, Susan supervised an Auricular clinic. As a teaching aid for her classes, Susan compiled and edited a comprehensive study guide for her students.

Susan has pursued intense studies in several other healthcare subjects, attending countless workshops and trainings. Several of these areas of study are Advanced Visceral Manipulation with Jean-Pierre Barral and the Upledger Institute from 1990 to the present. Also studied Lymphatic Drainage Brain 1 & 2 with Dr. Bruno Chikly from 2008 to present. In 1997 she completed a one year long certification program in Toyohari Japanese Acupuncture with Stephen Birch, Junko Ida, and several acupuncture ‘Masters’ from Japan, and has attended many additional Toyohari trainings and conferences throughout North America and Japan. In 2007-2008 completed a 1 year Advanced Toyohari Training.

Other interests include Hatha Yoga, meditation, chanting, playing her Ukulele and singing oldies but goldies. She spoils her two cats, Kali & Durga and loves to cook healthy organic meals for her family and friends.
