Allen Sayigh earned his Master’s degree in acupuncture and Oriental medicine from Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine (SIOM) in 1999. He grew up in Connecticut and previously received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University in New York.
An early interest in herbs drew him to the study of Oriental medicine and he brings that continued dedication to herbal medicine, and fascination with the field to his teaching. Besides teaching at the Jade Institute, Allen is currently an adjunct faculty at Bastyr University and Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine (SIOM), offering didactic instruction as well as supervising students in their clinical practice. He also manages the Chinese herbal dispensaries at both schools. Allen maintains a private practice in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in Seattle, Washington.
