Seminar Description:
In this seminar, Tiffany Pollard will speak to the integration of mind, body and spirit. Women are working and raising children, confronting a changing role in the family, community and the world, and often struggling with issues of intimacy and sexuality. This class will offer new perspectives on emotional-spiritual balance, diagnosing underlying causes, and using acupuncture to treat the root of anxiety and depression, while helping women to understand themselves and heal their wounds. You will develop tools that include Five Element diagnostics taught within a modern cultural context and hone your ability to truly see and listen with your entire being. We will explore the use of acupuncture points based on the 'inner tradition' of Chinese medicine, and the powerfully therapeutic use of metaphor and 'elemental language'. Special topics include the discussion of women's relationship between food and emotions, peri-menopausal transitions, and sexual abuse/betrayal.
